Equipment

  • 8×8 Square Pan
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 3 cups Cheerio cereal

Instructions

  • Start by lining an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray if you have none, then set aside.
  • Add the 2/3 cup peanut butter and 1/3 cup honey into a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, and stir. Continue to microwave in 15 second intervals and stir until warmed + smooth.
  • Add in the cereal and using a rubber spatula, toss until the cereal is fully coated in the peanut butter mixture.
  • Next, pour your cereal mixture into the prepared pan, and carefully spread out into an even layer.
  • Lay a separate piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper over the top of the cereal and press down firmly into the pan, creating a more even surface. This will help the bars hold more firmly together. Remove the plastic wrap or parchment paper from the surface of the cereal mixture. Pop these bad boys into the freezer for at-least 30 minutes to an hour or until fully set.
  • Take out of the freezer and carefully slice into bars. Store the cereal bars in the freezer in an airtight container or individually plastic wrapped and take them out as you wish to enjoy!

Notes

*This recipe is NOT for children under one years of age as it contains honey.
  • Nut-free option? Swap peanut butter for sunflower seed butter to make them school-safe.
  • Dairy-free? Just make sure your Cheerios and add-ins (if any) are labeled dairy-free.
  • Freezer-friendly? Yep! Just cut them into bars, wrap individually, and freeze. They thaw quickly and are perfect for grab-and-go moments.
  • Room for Two? You can double this recipe using a 9×13-inch pan.
