Homestyle Sloppy Joe & French Fries

There’s nothing quite like a classic, hearty meal that brings back childhood memories, and these Homestyle Sloppy Joes and Fries do just that!

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Large chopping knife
  • Olive/ Cooking oil
  • Air Fryer or Oven, for french fries

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 white onion, diced
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Sriracha *optional
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • Hamburger buns toasted, for serving
  • Frozen shoestring french fries, air fried

Ground Beef Seasoning: measure with your heart on this, below are rough guidelines

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp creole seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Season your beef with your preferred seasonings & dice your onion.
  • In a medium skillet over medium heat, add (1/2 tbsp) worcestershire sauce to your seasoned beef. Cook the seasoned ground beef and onions until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off excess liquid.
  • Stir in the garlic powder (1/2 tsp), mustard (1 tsp), ketchup (3/4 cup), brown sugar (1 Tbsp), Siracha (1 tsp) and water (1/2 cup), mixing until combined. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Throw a large handful of shoestring fries (or fry or choice) into the air fryer and cook according to package directions. (Usually 7-10 minutes at 375°F).
  • Continue to cook sloppy Joe mixture on medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens, about 4-7 minutes. Serve warm on toasted hamburger buns with your fries and enjoy!
